Limay II River. Inspired by the natural and fluid beauty of the beautiful, transparent Limay River, this work pays tribute to the untamed beauty of the Patagonian landscape. The main influence is nature itself, specifically the way willow trees bend over the water. Artistically, it draws from Expressionism, where the goal is not to copy a photograph but to translate the pure energy of the environment into a visual language of color and form.

The intention is for the viewer to feel a deep sense of serenity while simultaneously being struck by the vitality of the scene. The dense texture invites the eye to travel across the surface, creating a sensation of movement as if the wind were stirring the leaves. I hope the audience reflects on the physical presence of the land, sensing the contrast between the calm of a summer afternoon and the constant, powerful flow of the water.

The choice of the impasto technique was essential to give the piece a tactile relief, making the tree trunks feel rough and ancient. This medium allows the paint to rest thickly on the canvas, emphasizing a bold style where the physical brushstrokes remain visible. The subject matter was chosen to highlight the contrast between the heavy, solid earth and the bright, reflective surface of the water, using the thickness of the paint to bring the landscape to life.
